“Calm Before the Storm” explores the stillness of two horses standing together beneath a rapidly changing sky. Their quiet presence contrasts with the weight and movement of the storm clouds gathering above them.

Layers of textured acrylic build the landscape, while shafts of warm light break through the greys and darker earth tones. The horses remain illuminated against the approaching weather, creating a natural focal point within the open landscape.

There is tension in the scene, but also a sense of pause. The storm has not yet arrived, and for a brief moment the landscape, the horses, and the changing light seem suspended between calm and uncertainty.

As part of the Cubi–Seren branch of the CubiFusion Collection, Calm Before the Storm reflects BriN.’s exploration of atmosphere, stillness, observation, and the transition from what we see to what we feel.
