In this piece, titled "Concrete Reflections, ELI" I explore the relationship between the individual and the city's structure. Working primarily with acrylics and oils on a square canvas, I build up layers of texture and depth, incorporating concrete to echo the raw materiality of the urban landscape. The left side of the canvas evokes a sense of history and permanence, with textured squares emerging from the surface like weathered facades. On the right, a more fluid and expressive representation of the human form takes shape, suggesting the dynamism and ever-changing nature of city life.

The geometric patterns, a recurring motif in my work, symbolize the city's underlying grid, its organization, and its constraints. Yet, within this framework, the human spirit persists, adapting, evolving, and finding moments of introspection and connection. The abstract nature of the face invites viewers to project their own experiences and emotions onto the artwork, creating a personal dialogue with the piece.

Through this work, I aim to capture not just the physicality of the city but also its emotional resonance – the energy, the introspection, the constant hum of human experience that reverberates within its streets and buildings. It is a tribute to the city's enduring power to shape and be shaped by its inhabitants."
