This painting is inspired by a public sculpture sitting beside Sunset beach of Vancouver.
The smiling faces of two Buddhas are different. The golden Buddha is on-the-sky. She is far away from earth's life and she sees all good things. so she laughs loudly from her heart. The stone Buddha is on-the-earth and she sees both good and bad things on the earth. She want to follow golden buddha to laugh but end with a tight smile.
Different people may read this painting differently. However the focus point will be always kid who is our future.
