The media used here is a collage of printed U.S. maps, graphite, charcoal, oil and kaolin clay; these are traditional and non-traditional materials to grab the viewers’ attention and pull them in to follow the visual story. The technique of using printed/found material, stencils and heavy-handed marks create visual depth. These materials are also intended to feel like they were gathered from the natural environment to become something that is aesthetically beautiful and in someway functional.
