I've spent so much time studying, admiring and understanding the group of seven artists and Tom Thompson that they seem to always breathe life into how I think, approach painting and ultimately create art. The older I get, the more I am drawn to nature and its spirit. So, with this in mind, I've decided to pay homage to this collective with a Canadiana Series of paintings. This is the first in the series. In my mind, I am in the wild North, with one of the group of seven on a plein air trip to paint with energy, light, and freedom. This painting carries that spirit with bold colour and great energy.
