This painting was inspired by my walks though Chinatown. A community defines itself, takes hold and looks for ways to support and nurture culture and community. As a boy who lived in Little Italy, Chinatown was like traveling to another place. It is vibrant, colourful and full of sights and sounds that seemed intriguing and infused with energy. The words, the language and people coming to shop, celebrate, and meet up inspired me. These paintings are pushing the boundaries of art. This is the 3rd in a series of 4 paintings celebrating Chinatown.
