Becoming explores the quiet transformation of a human presence into an object of observation. Motionless and composed like a sculpture, the model seems suspended between person and form. The work questions where identity resides when the body is removed from movement and expression, and what remains when we are simply asked to look.
The painting has an interesting tension between the human body and the object, between being seen and becoming an object to be seen.
