This scene is the iconic river shot of Smith Rock State Park in Oregon. Climbing here was magical, and I wanted to capture how I felt while I was on the wall - the sunset painted the rock burning orange, and it was overwhelming to look back and see the entire valley behind me. I wanted to paint Smith Rock with an otherworldly atmosphere.
