One of four images created in a series, depicting the Four Elements: Spirit (aspen tree leaves), Earth (bear), Air (hawk), and Water (trout). Nature inspired the mystery of how our ancient world is held together, with respect and awareness of the four elements. The original artworks are all sold and were created by collaging fragments of my mixed-process printmaking and Oriental rice papers on canvas with applications of layers of acrylic painting. The subtle layers create a sense of mystery and a visual game of "now you see it, now you don't...".
