This year, after completing my art residency and our group visit to the Alliston Aquifer area, I created this painting. Experiencing the landscape firsthand — its quiet fragility and its importance as a source of clean underground water — deeply shaped the direction of this work. This painting "Standing Up for the Alliston Aquifer: Survival" is visually divided by a winding blue stream with a sunlit backdrop. On the left, vibrant blues and greens bring life: a tree stands strong, surrounded by fingerprint-like lines that echo human responsibility and the ripple of our actions. Circular shapes float like bubbles, symbols of water and oxygen. On the right, similar forms appear over dark greys and blacks, reminiscent of stones and gravel. A barren tree, stripped of leaves and roots, stands stark against this harsh environment — a testament to what survival demands and the consequences of human impact. The composition contrasts life and decay, emphasizing the fragile balance that sustains the aquifer and all it nurtures. Original painting on canvas. Framed ( floating) Painting is ready to hang in the room.... just put a little hook and enjoy colours on your wall . Signed + certificate of authenticity.
