Straits of Blue explores the meeting place between movement and stillness, inviting the viewer into a landscape that exists as much within the imagination as it does in nature.

Bands of deep ultramarine and turquoise are intersected by subtle linear passages of bronze metallic paint. These quiet, reflective lines inspired the title—a playful reference to both the straits of water that connect distant shores and the straight paths woven through the foreground. Like channels guiding the tide, they lead the eye toward a radiant center where light breaks across the horizon.

Broad expressive brushstrokes and translucent layers create an atmosphere that shifts with changing light, revealing new colors and reflections each time it is viewed.

At its heart, Straits of Blue is an invitation to pause—to leave behind the ordinary and enter a space of quiet contemplation, where boundaries soften and the horizon suggests possibility rather than destination.
