This masterpiece depicts one of the series of Territorial disputes in Sub-Sahara of Africa between Great Britain and France in 1898.
These two countries desired to establish and connect their desparate colonial possessions in Africa through the Nile. Great Britain wanted to link Uganda to Egypt via railway from Cape of Good Hope to Cairo, while France hope to extend it’s Dominion across Central Africa and Sudan.
Eventually the French consolidated all their gains and the Position in Egypt was confirmed.- then, “ Entente of 1904.
