"When the Storm has Passed" is an abstract Landscape that celebrates the emergence of a bright new day full of new possibilities. It symbolizes how storms pass through our lives and make room for renewal and growth.
Lynna is a full-time artist based in East Vancouver. She works primarily with Painting and Performance. A California Institute of the Arts graduate, Lynna employs an interdisciplinary approach to creation. Through a vivid interplay of painting, storytelling, and other media, Lynna has enjoyed a lively, long-term commitment to art as a way of life for many years. She exhibits regularly in galleries, most recently at the Skylight Gallery in Washington State, and participates in the annual Eastside Culture Crawl and First Saturday Open Studio Events.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
In my figurative and abstract paintings, I strive to express the mysterious and intangible qualities of nature and human experience, the feelings, sensations and captured moments that can not be easily expressed in words. In my abstract landscapes, often rendered in vivid and surprising colours, I am finding metaphors for human emotion. In my lyrical, non-narrative abstracts, I am capturing a moment allowing the mysterious unconscious to speak through me to things that can not be expressed in words.
