Olga, a Ukrainian-born artist, has been based in Canada for 8 years. With a background in art, design, and video production, she pursues part-time studies in Classical Realism at the Academy of Realist Art while working full-time as a Multimedia Designer.
Her passion for creating original artwork was ignited by her recent win at Art Battle Toronto in December 2022. Olga continues to explore her creative side while living in Toronto with her feline muse, Zelda, who brings both inspiration and mischief to her daily life.
Through her captivating artwork, Olga blends traditional techniques with modern perspectives. Her focus on portraiture and figurative work allows her to use her classical training to explore the intricacies of human identity. Join her on a journey of self-discovery through her beautiful and thought-provoking creations.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
As an artist, I primarily work with oil, but I also enjoy experimenting with acrylics, ink, and digital art. Trained in Academic Art, I am captivated by the possibilities and depth of classic realist art, especially when breaking the rules after learning them.
My fascination with the female portrait and figure is not just a mere exploration of beauty, but rather an attempt to understand other people and their experiences. I believe that by exploring the human form, we can gain a deeper insight into our own nature and that of those around us.
Through my art, I seek to capture not only the physical likeness of my subjects but also their essence, their thoughts, and their emotions. By examining the complexities of the human experience, I hope to gain a greater understanding of myself and my place in the world.
As I continue to blend my academic training with modern techniques and seek to push the boundaries of traditional art, I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery and exploration.
