The female body is a place of continual metamorphosis. Throughout a woman’s life, her body undergoes many evolutions of construction and reconstruction. These “womb” sculptures explore what can be argued as the most extraordinary bodily transformation: pregnancy and birth. Taken individually, these wombs are snapshots into the creation of life. As a whole, they show the other-worldly beauty and power it takes to create a society. This sculpture is the artist's 7th rendition and depicts the C-section process.
