Mahmood "moodini" is an Iranian-Canadian Visual artist who lives and works in Toronto. He is inspired by the contemporary painting movement in Iran and Pop art. His work revolves around birth, sex, life, future, ancestry, immigrant identity/culture, and hybridity. All of these themes come together in an objectified realm of symbiosis, In his work, he aims to uncover and disclose the dynamic nature of the icons and things he makes, both those that are scripturally real and those that are independently created and defined through the creation of a subversive aesthetic, he challenges outmoded, oppressive discourses and serves as a restorative force that helps people move beyond outmoded, oppressive ways of being and regain their power.
