Acrylic and aluminium sculpture.
32x100x18"
This kinetic sculpture is an abstract representation of a waterfall.
Shimmering pieces of aluminium, mirrors and silver acrylic pieces mimic the effect of light on suspended water particles.

This sculpture is easily suspended with a simple open hook installed in the ceiling. I recommend suspending it near a window where the mirrors can catch the sunshine and create moving reflections. Alternatively you can use a spotlight to project interesting shadows and light reflections.
Claudine Gévry is a multidisciplinary artist who dreams of creating a magical world where the vicissitudes of life are replaced with surprise and delight.
She is inspired by artists like American sculptor Alexander Calder, inventor of the art of mobiles, as well as technology oriented & experimental artists like Amsterdam-based Studio Drift. Living on the West Coast of Canada, Claudine’s art is greatly influenced by her environment. Nature’s fragility, its impermanence and its ability to adapt to different circumstances are among the themes nurturing her work.
Over the last few years, Claudine started integrating lighting technology in her traditional metal wire & kinetic sculptures. To help her achieve her vision in 2019 she co-founded Umbra & Lux, an innovative sculptural lighting company. Regularly exhibited in art galleries, her sculptural light installations can also be found in corporate settings like the University of British Columbia Pharmaceutical Sciences Building and in the offices of biotechnology company, AbCellera, in Vancouver.
Originally from Montreal, Claudine now lives and dreams in Vancouver, Canada.
