I created work that portrays strong emotions, personally, and societally represents and perhaps confronts the "traditional duties" of women. I definitely think hands tell the story of human beings and are very powerful imagery when representing the human subject. The dark colour scheme offers a sense of drama that one would not usually associate with such mundane, simple tasks.

This image portrays a visceral reaction of pain as the viewer can imagine the moment before squeezing a cactus with the spikes ready to enter the flesh. This picture is meant to make the viewer feel uncomfortable as they imagine the pain felt in this depiction. I think the cactus also looks almost phallic, a symbolism I used to depict the "woman's duty to pleasure".
