Rebirth: Discovering solace in the recognition that the obstacles encountered on our journey are mere burdens, akin to a butterfly gracefully bearing the weight of its transformative odyssey through diverse life cycles, becomes a poignant theme in this artistic exhibition. This metaphorical reflection invites viewers to contemplate the profound parallel between the struggles faced during personal growth and the metaphorical weight carried by the butterfly. The butterfly, universally emblematic of metamorphosis and rebirth, weaves its delicate yet resilient narrative through the artistic tapestry. The piece invites attendees to delve into the intricate dance between burden and metamorphosis, inspiring a collective introspection on the shared human experience of growth, resilience, and the eventual emergence into newfound light.
Asmin weaves together the untamed beauty of nature with the vibrant tapestry of human
emotions, creating a harmonious symphony on the canvas that reflects the profound interplay
between the external world and the intricate landscape of her inner self.
Born and educated in Istanbul, Turkey, Asmin's artistic odyssey began at the Istanbul Academy
of Fine Arts, where she honed her skills in technical drawing from 2011 to 2013. However, her
insatiable curiosity and multidimensional outlook on life led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree
in economics at Istanbul University from 2014 to 2018.
The pivotal moment in Asmin's life arrived when she decided to expand her horizons and
embrace the challenges of adapting to a new country. This transformative experience became
the cornerstone of "Roots in Transition," a collection of evocative art pieces that delve into the
daily life experiences of a young woman navigating the complexities of a foreign land –
Vancouver, Canada.
Each piece in the exhibition serves as a visual diary, capturing the nuances of Asmin's emotional
landscape as she grapples with the ebb and flow of change. Her creations' colours, textures, and
forms mirror the diverse emotions encountered during this journey – from the excitement of
new beginnings to the nostalgia for the familiar roots left behind. Asmin's art becomes a
conduit, allowing viewers to empathize with the universal themes of adaptation, resilience, and
the delicate dance between nature and human emotion.
Currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Canada West, Asmin continues to evolve as an
artist, drawing inspiration from the intersection of her academic pursuits and her artistic
endeavours. "Roots in Transition: Emotions in Nature" is a testament to Asmin Pulas' ability to
translate personal experiences into a universally resonant visual language.
