Limited edition 1 of 3.
No. 1 to No. 3 (full set)
This is a scene of my family cooking together. We were making manté, a traditional Armenian dish that is time consuming to make, but delicious. Manté is folded dough and meat, boiled and served with a dollop of tomato sauce. In this moment, my family is bonding by working and laughing together to make the process more efficient and enjoyable. The emotions of these documentary photos are solidified by atmospheric and classical composition and lighting. The style and subject matter embody warmth, nostalgia, love, and tradition through nourishment and quality time. When faced with unresolved cultural bereavement, creating art and cooking together comforts the soul and preserves tradition.
