The painting was inspired by a letter that a Mexican painter Frida Kahlo sent to her husband the painter Diego Rivera on their 10th wedding anniversary in 1939 and in the letter Frida Kahlo begins by calling Diego MY CHILD, a loving way of calling him. At that time they were divorced.
Mayra Hernández is an artist born in Mexico City and currently resides in Montreal Quebec and works as a freelance artist. She has taken multiples courses in drawing and painting in recent years. She loves exploring the world through art and her paintings are just at the interaction of abstraction and introspection.
