Charline Cocset was born in 1984 in northern France. After studying visual arts and scenography in Belgium, she worked in theatre sets and animation cinema. She has exhibited paintings in Brussels, Paris and Montreal. She currently lives and works in Montreal, Canada
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Between abstraction and figuration, she draws inspiration from reality and detaches herself from it. She likes to mix acrylic paint with ink, pastel, pencil… Accidents occur there: stains, traces. It does not seek to be in control of the gesture. His paintings are like imprints.
