Jeffrey Swider Peltz
Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, I grew up ice speedskating with my sister, under the training of my Mother. After competing internationally for the US, I left speedskating to teach and make visual art. I am now based in Chicago and move between the mediums of drawing, muraling, installation and performance.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I’m interested in making human connections, public art and revisiting my athletic background. My explorations of time, repetition and space often originate from physical movement and the limitations of the body. I am currently making work using different shapes and boundaries used on the surfaces of athletic arenas and courts.
