ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I love creating art, but my favourite thing to make is to make the viewer smile, laugh, or experience a sense of surprise. Whether it’s a film character playing a musical instrument, or The Rock coming for your cake pop, I love bringing something unexpected to every piece I create.

$650.00

Acrylic on cradled birch panel.

16x20"

Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen... you may know her as the Mother of Dragons, but here she is Mother of Dachshunds!

20x16x1.5"

The acrylic painting is done on cradled birch panel with raw wood edges and varnished with a semi-gloss UV protectant coating to resist fading over time.

"Mother of Dachshunds" is part of a series of pop-culture-inspired acrylics in vibrant colours that brought as much joy to paint as they hopefully will bring to collectors who choose to hang them. I love creating that feeling of surprise, a laugh, or smile, in the viewer, by presenting a familiar subject in an unfamiliar or unexpected way.

A fun reinterpretation of Princess Leia and that classic gold bikini, with the crinkle and crunch of Doritos!

$160.00

Acrylic and composition gold leaf on cradled birch panel.

10x10"

Clean lines, a simple colour palette, and just a bit of jazz. Simple pieces that you could design a whole room around. That's what I was craving when I created the October series, and I absolutely feel that I accomplished it! I hope you love these new abstract works as much as I do.

October 2 is 10x10" on cradled birch panel with a depth of 7/8". It is matte acrylic paint, embellished with composition gold leaf (a blend of zinc and copper that shines like the real thing), and signed on the right edge of the piece in gold paint pen.

Unlike my other work, this piece is not varnished, in order to maintain the textures of the exposed wood, paint, and gold leaf. Handle with care to make it last a lifetime.
