I’m an Irish-Canadian emerging artist who initially immigrated to Canada in 2011 to further a career in medicine and psychiatry.
Though I had always harboured artistic inclinations, it wasn’t until the experience of fatherhood and then the covid pandemic lockdown when I refocused on exploring more deeply my artistic vocation and have been painting happily ever since!
I paint predominantly figures and portraits in oil, and seek to explore the psychology and complexity of what it means to be human through my paintings.

This is a portrait of an archetype: a female who represents a symbol of beauty and harmony with the natural world (as represented by the bee). It is a hopeful painting of the role humanity can play within nature - that of caregiver and protector.
