I am a self-taught traditional artist who creates works with a highly detailed and realistic style. My specialty is landscapes, but I also enjoy painting floral works, birds, and various other wildlife. I obtain my reference material from spending a lot of time outdoors photographing the Ontario landscape, flora and fauna. My wish is for viewers and collectors of my work to gain a new appreciation for the beautiful world we live in and to help them experience a sense of peace at the end of a long day. It’s especially rewarding for me when my viewers ‘get lost’ in the details of my work. My work is found in many private collections across Canada.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

The beauty I find in nature around me is what inspires my work, and my desire to preserve this vision is what motivates me to create.

The reference photo I used for this painting is from our summer cottage in the Kawarthas! I loved the colors and the vibrancy in this photo and, with a few minor changes here and there for composition reasons, this is what they looked like!

This painting is gallery wrapped on custom professional keyed stretcher bars, fully painted on the sides, and is coated with an archival, removeable varnish.
