Still life of limes in a blue bowl set on a pink background
Originally from North York, Ontario, William moved to the shores of Georgian Bay in his adolescence. Being surrounded by the beauty of central and northern Ontario in his formative years culminated in a love for landscape painting. In his early adulthood, William moved to Sudbury, Ontario where he studied to become a millwright. Throughout his millwright career, William has been able to capture, through painting, the often overlooked life of a tradesperson.
William now calls East Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia his home. He is a member of the Association of Atlantic Area Artists (AAAA), Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), as well as the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA). William’s artwork has been on display throughout the HRM, Ottawa, Ontario, as well as privately purchased both domestically and internationally.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Great Lakes and the Canadian Shield, William’s love of painting natural landscapes flourished, drawing inspiration from impressionist and post impressionist artists. William’s day job as a millwright has opened his eyes to the beauty of the trades, and through painting, William hopes to share this rare glimpse into the life of the blue-collar worker.
