Fireweed, aptly named for its inclination to thrive in regions affected by natural events like fires, landslides, or avalanches, as well as in soils disrupted by activities such as logging, petroleum extraction, and surface mining, is a pioneering plant. Its significant ecological contribution lies in its ability to stabilize disturbed soils.

This painting was inspired on a warm summer afternoon with a dear friend by the Bow River.



First Nations made varied use of the river for sustenance before settlers of European origin arrived, such as using its valleys in the buffalo hunt. They skillfully employed its valleys during buffalo hunts, exemplifying their resourcefulness.



The river's name, Bow, originates from the reeds that flourished along its banks, serving as raw materials for crafting bows by the First Nations. In the Blackfoot language, the river is referred to as Makhabn, signifying "river where bow reeds grow."

" Hide & Seek" was inspired by haughty wildflowers. Sometimes you don't see them, even if they are right in front of you. Then you see them everywhere!

"Glenmore Glory" was inspired by the colors at the Glenmore Reservoir in Calgary during last fall. The colors were especially bright after a rainfall the day before.

Original oil painting inspired by the Lorette Ponds in Alberta, Canada.

It is made using oil paints and palette knife on canvas. I prepare may own canvas using PVA glue and oil ground for archival purposes.



The sides have been painted and it is ready to hang. Protected with good quality varnish and can be cleaned with a soft cloth.

This painting was born while going to Banff close to Castle Mountain. I wanted to give more of an abstract feeling.

"Two Jack Delights" was inspired by a day at Two Jack Lake, AB, Canada. The day was perfect, I painted a small study in the early morning and this painting was informed by that painting but painted in the studio.



I especially like the feeling of the impressive landscape and how small the people looked. It is a really humbling moment.

Inspired by Glenmore Park in Calgary, AB, Canada. All my paintings have a starting point from a real place but get changed along the way to reflect my impression of the moment.
