I painted this one with my palette knives. I find it feels like a breath of fresh air.
Lately, more than ever before I feel like when I need to relax, I reach for the outdoors. It has a certain magic that can be like a warm freshness or something. Can't explain it much in words. It was inspired by the feeling of just a relaxed freshness gained from a brisk walk.

Painted with spontaneous bold strokes from her imagination, the artist didn't want to focus on capturing every detail of the landscape. Instead decided on capturing the energy, portraying key elements such as light, colours and shadows. The inspiration comes not from the scene itself, but from the initial impression it leaves upon the artist.

As an artist, I am drawn to the natural world and the way light interacts with it. In my latest painting, I depict a landscape that features a dock stretching over water, with a striking viridian green laser beam running through the wood. This painting represents the importance of natural light in our lives and the impact that human activity has on our environment.
In recent years, we have seen a decline in dark skies due to increased light pollution. The neon hues caused by a colder moon are a changing sign of the way there are fewer and fewer dark skies near us. In this painting, I aim to highlight the hues of light that seem artificial to underscore the importance of preserving dark skies.
As inhabitants of this planet, we have a role to play in reducing our impact on the environment. By being mindful of our energy consumption and making small changes in our daily lives, we can help preserve the natural beauty of our world and protect it for future generations. Let us all take responsibility for our actions and work towards a brighter future for all.

During the Covid-19 pandemic years, Artist, Mariam Qureshi, has been feeling as if the human interactions have become limited to Zoom meetings, live social media feeds. She started created this painting december 2020 during her live on Instagram performances with a musician. She says she couldn't finish it behind screens. The black sky sat in her studio for months and then when she decided to exhibit her art in parks to create a safe space for people to socialize, she was invited to exhibit her paintings at the Botanic Garden in Alberta. She completed the dark sky with a beautiful hopeful puffy cloud that may bring new blooms and depth into the day to day scene. It is an acrylic painting that is finished off with oil paint on a large canvas. The scene of a mountain top where a cloud hovers it and the trees and mess underneath awaits for a lush of rain to turn things green again. Where the mess follows the wind, sun and breathes in the intentions of dreams and a brand new tomorrow.

The Painting called Penny parks was made with pennies, oil paint, and oil pastels and is a study in recyclable resources and how to make art a means of living. The park scene is at once whimsical and calming, with the bright copper pennies adding a touch of whimsy. The darker tones throughout the painting create a sense of depth and richness, while the lighter hues add a sense of peace and tranquillity. This is a truly unique painting that would be a wonderful addition to any home or office.

This oil painting is titled "Fragmented Reality" and was created by Mariam Qureshi. It was painted in oil paint live at a senior's home during a community effort for Alzheimer's. The painting has fragmented pieces of mountains, yellow flowers, swirling hills, purple in the sunsets and orange in the trees. Mariam Qureshi asked those who were living with Alzheimer's to describe their favourite memory and as they recalled family trips to the mountains and ski vacations, the artist created this piece. This painting is a beautiful reminder of pleasant memories and is sure to brighten any room it is hung in.
