A foundational piece from my first community-based studio in 2017, "Run with Magpies" captures the spirit of resilience and movement. The abstract figure running alongside the flock represents the journey of the artist and the neighbor alike—navigating the urban landscape with purpose. In Edmonton, the magpie is a symbol of instinct and local identity, rising above the challenges of the seasons.

This work serves as the "root" of my 'Community Energy through Landscape' series. It reflects the idea that, no matter the struggles we face, we are guided by the shared inspiration of our surroundings. It is a celebration of staying focused on what truly matters while remaining steadfastly connected to the place we call home.
