"Italian Study Notes" is from Wang Zis Italian A2-B1 study. It is a series of monoprints made to honour the FLS extracted from her textbook and study notes. Every time we write, we are making a monoprint on paper. Oftentimes, language learners write the "correct" content repeatedly to reinforce the learning. Through a punitive action of writing the same word, language learners put themselves through a Milgram experiment to train both the muscle and the mind into obedience to the new language and culture. This series aims to monumentalize the process of this obedience test we language learners perform on ourselves.

It’s not just Black & White: There’s more to it!
Just like there are two sides of a coin, yet the important decisions hold value on which face of a coin you put a bet. Similarly, the most simple things that appear unambiguous are in fact more complicated to decipher.
My black and white abstract with a dapple of red is just an array of thoughts to represent: To see is to believe, to believe is to identify and deduce. There is always more to what you might see and interpret so don’t get disheartened since there is a light at the end of every tunnel. A dash of colour will always be there to ignite the missing spark in whatever you do.

EVEN THOUGH THIS PIECE WOULD BE CONSIDERED ABSTRACT IT REMINDS ME OF HECTIC HOLIDAY DINNERS CAN BE. IN THE LEFT TOP CORNER THE AREA LOOKS LIKES LIKE KITCHEN AND THEN CAOS HAPPENS AFTER THAT.
