Christina Sideris

Christina Sideris is currently developing a series of artworks presented through the Artistry by Design Art-Box—a dynamic illuminated format that transforms two-dimensional works into atmospheric installations. Through large-scale immersive photographic compositions, Sideris explores abstract global landscapes and the evolving relationship between nature and the built environment.
The collection is showcased on innovative illuminated Art Boxes that elevate each piece into a sculptural light installation. Working in her signature layered photographic style, Sideris reveals the dualities between constructed cityscapes and nature’s organic detail. Each custom-designed Art Box integrates patented LED panel technology with lightweight reflective boards to illuminate digital artworks printed on a proprietary thin-weave fabric, creating an experience that is both visual and spatial.
Following her featured exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2017, Sideris solidified her ambition to reach wider audiences while pushing the boundaries of fine-art presentation. Her work examines the parallels, tensions, and balance between urban expansion and the natural world, exploring how human impact shapes both immediate and global environments. Through this lens, she challenges the notion of “real vs. ideal,” questioning society’s pursuit of beauty, perfection, and the evolving definition of happiness.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Christina Sideris channels creative integrity and fine-art precision through Artistry by Design Art-Box—illuminated installations that transform photographic works into immersive, atmospheric experiences. Her practice merges photography, light, and spatial design to reveal nature and architecture in dialogue, layering global landscapes to expose harmony, contrast, and coexistence.
Each custom photographic composition is printed on a patented thin-weave fabric and illuminated using integrated LED panels mounted to lightweight reflective structures. The result is a body of work that exists between image and environment—quietly immersive, sculptural, and emotionally resonant.
Sideris’s 2017 AGO exhibition marked a pivotal moment of recognition, inspiring her to expand both audience and format while continuing to challenge traditional modes of visual presentation. Her work consistently examines the world through a lens of balance and duality—urban sprawl versus nature’s gifts, constructed ideals versus lived reality—while questioning who defines beauty, perfection, and happiness in contemporary society.
Through light, scale, and layered imagery, Sideris invites viewers into a contemplative space where perception softens and the boundaries between real and ideal begin to dissolve.
