Oil on canvas.
24x24"
“As already said by Ne Win, when the army fires, it is not in the habit of firing into the air, they are firing to kill. Thus, between striking colors and simple features, a woman and her child reveal the uncertainty of tomorrow. It is the very touch of sensitivity and the lack of opportunities. However, like the brushstroke child, who has a captivating look, hope persists so that we, like her, can look forward and imagine a more coherent future for these people. Even because they are as citizens as we are”
I am an emerging artist mostly self taught and I have my senses open to many possibilities painting can bring to me. I have been observing, studying and challenging myself at every stroke I put in each painting.
I have been working to create images that speaks to the viewers, enriching them by evoking emotional response.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
About the art work attached
“The oil painting on canvas portrays Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil. It has a very interesting creative composition,in the background we can observe the young Lula, his poor home in the interior of the Brazilian Northeast where he lived part of his childhood and the figure of Dona Lindu, President’s mother, an important inspiration and example of resilience in his life. Finally this canvas background moves away, bringing the portrait of the President to the foreground.”
