An elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Colour and Form Society, Diana is based in Caledon, Ontario. Her work has been shown in juried and solo shows in Canada and the US.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Diana’s award-winning Flight Series is based on photographs she has taken while travelling across the continent. Using delicate layers of oil paint, often highlighted with chalk or pencil, she creates paintings that instil an emotional connection to the land below. Diana's works explore liminal spaces: where the land and water meet, where the earth disappears at the horizon, where buildings and roads encroach on fields and forests. The word liminal is derived from the Latin for threshold; these spaces can be seen as transitional or transformative in nature and sometimes have an eerie atmosphere. This series' unusual viewpoint evokes a sense of awe and hushed movement.
