Growing up in Montreal, I was immersed in a world of art early on. I watched my mother execute hyper-realistic still-life paintings and observed my grandfather shape wood blocks into beautiful native birds. I was captivated by their creative energy. During these formative years, I stumbled upon the art of sculpture. This discovery would forever shape my artistic journey.

My sculptures possess an uncanny, almost eerie quality, with an otherworldly vibe emanating from them, blending the line between reality and fantasy. I am driven by the desire to provoke a visceral response in those who encounter my work. With each sculpture, I seek to challenge perceptions and expand the boundaries of artistic expression.

Octopus, intrigued me with the possibility of finding folklore tales that mirrored her very essence. My curiosity led me to the discovery of a particular narrative that captivated my attention - the Native American fable known as "Octopus and Raven," from Nootka tribe nestled in the majestic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

According to this story, a woman is engaged in the task of digging for clams when an inquisitive Raven appears and begins to pester her with curiosity about her activities. As the Raven pushes its interference too far, something extraordinary occurs. The woman's flowing braids transform into tentacles, which swiftly entangle the Raven. Sadly, as the tide rises, the Raven finds itself unable to break free from the woman's grasp and tragically drowns in the relentless ocean. Raven never dies and comes back the next day but never pesters Octopus again.
