Acrylic on gallery canvas.
40x30"
This piece speaks to the chaos of family homes with young children and also to those who are getting older and losing things in plain sight. Created with thin washes of acrylic.
Sheryl has been passionate about art since childhood and is a graduate of two art programs, first fine arts/teaching in South Africa and later editorial design at OCAD. Sheryl was an Art Director and Editorial Designer for over 30 years before coming back to her first love, fine art.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Sheryl’s goal is to create visual joy and energy and her strongest inspiration is colour. She thrives on the risks and problem solving that are part of painting intuitively with only an idea and not a plan. Layers start off spontaneous and energetic but end with much attention to detail. Her medium of choice is acrylic paint.
