I am Raheleh, a watercolor artist in Waterloo. I have always been passionate about art, especially watercolor painting. The practice of painting helps me to better know my inner self and to express my feelings through art. Over the past three years, I have dedicated myself to watercolor painting. When I paint, everything else just goes away and time means nothing. It’s just me and the paper and the magical way the watercolor swishes across the paper.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Watercolor painting is my passion. Inspiration for my work comes from the moments of everyday life – the shadow of a piece of fruit on the table, my neighbors’ fences in the snow, the vibrant colors of flowers, and the highlights on their petals and leaves. Most of my works are based on the wet technique, as I love the flow and spontaneous circulation of watercolor on wet paper and the unpredictable opportunities that can be created in the process of painting.
