Acrylic on canvas. This piece explores the depths of sadness and despair experienced during depression and mimic the natural power and strength of the ocean.
Self taught artist located in the Toronto area using acrylic pain for introspectively explore emotions and feelings. Following recent struggle with mental illness and multiple traumatic events painting became a way to explore the feelings, thoughts and emotions I was struggling with and use their power and intensity to create art.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Self taught artist from the GTA using acrylic paint to express and explore feelings and emotions. Works are inspired by the introspective exploration of the complexity, depth and ability for emotions to evolve throughout life especially after experiences such as mental illness and trauma. The strength and force of emotions triggered by traumatic events are powerful and my works aim to mimic this intensity and power with those forces found in the natural world and express them on canvas.
