Run with Magpies

Oil on canvas.
60x48x2"
This painting captures a moment of movement and resilience, an abstract figure running alongside a flock of magpies. The figure, though not fully defined, is a representation of anyone on a journey—facing obstacles, yet determined to move forward. The magpies, with their wings spread wide, serve as symbols of freedom, instinct, and the ability to rise above challenges.
In this piece, the interplay between the figure and the birds speaks to the idea that, no matter the struggles or setbacks we face, it is crucial to remain steadfast and fly towards what truly matters. The magpies are more than just birds; they represent the forces of inspiration and perseverance that guide us, even when the path is unclear. The figure’s motion is both fluid and purposeful, reflecting the idea that movement—whether physical or emotional—is a way of embracing life’s uncertainties and staying focused on what is worth pursuing.
This work is a reminder to trust in the journey and in the strength to overcome, no matter how daunting the obstacles. Like the magpies in flight, we too have the power to soar towards our purpose and find freedom in the pursuit of what we love.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I am learning from nature what life doesn't speak about.
My work is the unconscious expression of what has marked me or someone I know. What inspires me is Peace and Love but I often use abstract and surreal nature as my main symbolic metaphor for the mood or emotions I want to express.
