This long acrylic pour painting is bright and the resin makes it EXTREMELY reflective and the pops of color are absolutely stunning. The sea foam greens and blues work together with a sandy accent golden color shimmers to mimic the colors of the ocean. 5 shades of colors were poured together and then gold leaf foil was applied carefully with sturdy glue in an overall pattern more heavily on one end and slowly fading out to the other to make a weighted vs empty composition. Three layers of Art Resin were applied for a flawless surface finish. NOTE: the sides are painted and ready but a few drip marks from the resin make the sides slightly bumpy. The dark pine wood frame completes the series for a more modern. The bronze gold foil will compliment metallic deco beautifully.
I live my life in color! I am optimistic and express myself through my artwork and grew up inspired by the vibrancy of life. If I can spread joy to others through my artwork in this way I consider this a huge success. I am Dutch Canadian passionate about art who grew up on a farm with my art in local galleries in my early life. I then moved to Toronto and taught children hands on Art and Sciences. Every original piece is uniquely part of me from start to finish.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
All art I create is original, photographed and designed by me. I incorporate a method of painting called "Acrylic Pouring" that gives my pieces fantastic close-up abstract bubbles and details. Every canvas and frame of mine is 100% handmade and has a unique creativity that speaks to my colorful personality. I use high-grade artistic acrylic paints and complete each piece with a varnish or artistic resin to seal, protect and preserve them against ageing, sunlight and yellowing. Lastly, I construct each frame with locally sourced lumber, sand and stain each frame and attach it to its canvas.
